I've tried several times however. Days and days of rest fooled me more than once that I was getting better but as soon as I started to run I would get a sharp pain in my side. So much for rest.
So far I've tried:
- doctor visits (3 times)
- chiropractor visits (2 times)
- x-ray of my hip (negative)
- MRI of my entire pelvis (negative)
- In my 3rd week of PT
- rest, rest and more rest
- rotated sacrum
- tight right Quadratus Lumborum muscle
- tight right Piriformis
- tight right Gluteus Medius
- tight right Hamstring
- tight right ITB
A long story short: when I don't run I really don't feel like blogging about running. Funny how that works. In fact the only activity my blog has seen lately is me deleting yet another race from my race schedule. So until I can figure out what's going on, I probably won't spend a lot of time writing about my problems (other than this time :-)).

That sucks, my friend. As far as all of those problems, I'm sure most of us have them too. Patience is a virtue, but runners don't have it. I hate being injured, and I'm fighting my own hip pains these days. Hang in there. - Douglas
i hope you get it all figured out soon.
Steve,
Someone else you might want to check into is Julie Donnelly at Julstro.com. She is very good at offering advice and solutions that may work. Her forums are here: http://forum.julstrointernational.com/viewforum.php?f=9 You can look around or ask a question. I have a copy of her book "The Pain Free Triathlete" if you would like to borrow it, but she has an updated book now and I only have an ebook of it. I went to one of her workshops in Boston once and she has helped me through with various injuries through her message board in years past. It could be worth a shot for you at this time. She knows how all muscles are connected together and works with athletes. Good luck, I want to see you out and running again.
Jim
Thanks for the support. It's hard to write about injuries without coming across like a whiner. I started off with patience (really) but have progressed way beyond frustration at this point. I just wish I knew what I was dealing with. It would make any type of recovery a little bit easier. I'm not looking for sympathy, I really just want to run.
Trust me, Deb wants me to run too. Unlike you folks, she has to hear me whine and complain every day :-)
Steve,
I hear your pain. Get better soon. It's no fun out there with out you.
I think I figured out what your doing. Your setting your self up for another "Come Back Runner of the Year" award. Smart tactic
